Hi Socnetters

There is a fantastic opportunity for a social network analyst to join the research department of a major bank.
They are looking for a technical orientated analysts there are two positions one in London and one in New York.
I have been asked to help  find suitable candidates. Ideally a post doc who has had a few years experience or someone who already has worked in Industry.

At least 3-5 years of experience working with social media data at scale, including experience
of Graph Databases and Graph Theory concepts, as well as Natural Language Processing and
linguistic analysis. Worked on collection and statistical processing of data from prominent
social networking sites, and the linkage of that data to other real world sources, including
data generated by prominent corporate brands and/or government statistical agencies.

 A PhD, or Masters with equivalent work experience, with a solid background in statistical
analytical techniques, quantitative social science research or experimental physical science.

At least 3-5 years of relevant industry experience is also desirable. Experience developing statistical and predictive models using software including Python andR as well as working knowledge of C/C++/Java.

Experience processing data at scale using SQL and NoSQL database systems.

 Strong experience and desire to write research style reports, which could include a PhD
thesis, but other research documents are equally relevant.

 Candidates must have a strong desire to see their work leveraged across multiple channels,
including: providing written content for standalone research reports; adding insight to
research reports written by other analysts, and; developing systematic trading strategies for
investment by Deutsche Bank’s clients.

Excellent written and spoken English, with ability to work collaboratively and communicate
well within a highly skilled team, with a wide range of backgrounds and skillsets.
