Hello Maggie,
What is your training on that issue? I can imagine that your policy can be inferred from your training. We train our tutors to use questions, address underlying concepts, and demonstrate strategies in the context of other problems (not the homework) in order to avoid walking a student through the homework and in the process comprising academic integrity. We use the CRLA/ATP code of ethics and add a section from our institution's academic integrity policy. I've attached our document for your review. This is an ongoing issue as students often want hands-on "homework help," and tutors can easily find themselves engaging in such a practice or feeling pressured to do so.
All the best,
Jeffrey

Subject: Homework Policies/Concept Based Tutoring

Good afternoon,

I am looking into creating a policy for both students and tutors regarding what will, and will not, be covered in a tutoring session, to align closer to our academic honesty policy. I want to have a policy that is clear, direct, and transparent as to what a student can expect in, and from, a tutoring session.

I thank you in advance for any wording, phrases, policy, website links, and resources that would be helpful in the development of this initiative.

All the best,
Maggie
