For anyone with FDOT funding, please see the announcement below regarding travel on FDOT awards.  If your faculty awards include travel and there is any question regarding its essential, please ensure that the travel is approved by FDOT.

Subject: Suspension of Non-Essential Travel - to include research projects with universities
Importance: High

Please be advised that the Governor’s office has directed the suspension of all non-essential state travel.  This suspension was the result of Hurricane Michael, and has been in place since October 16, 2018.  This suspension of non-essential travel includes consultants and vendors, when FDOT is paying for the travel.  If it is non-essential travel, it can be postponed.

Any update or reschedulable travel may not proceed.  If a researcher is scheduled to travel to run planned testing that cannot be readily rescheduled (e.g., involves local agencies or construction projects), the travel is project-related and may proceed.

No date has been provided when the suspension on non-essential travel will be lifted for FDOT staff or FDOT consultants and vendors.  We will keep you apprised of any further developments.
