Hi Meaghan,

Currently at California State University, Fresno, we offer walk ins on
Wednesdays for students who would like to meet with our academic coaches.
We have found this model to be helpful, especially during the semester when
all of the coaches are scheduled with appointments several weeks out and
students are not able to be seen right away. The walk in model provides
that opportunity for earlier access to a coach. Each of our academic coach
are assigned 2 hour blocks to cover for walk ins from 8:30 to 4:00 p.m.
This allows them to see both walk ins and scheduled appointments. Our
coaches treat walk ins like they would any scheduled appointment. What has
been helpful for us over the years has been using a heat map to help
determine which days are the best for walk in advising.

Best,
