Hi Diane,

We require training of all of our tutors in our Learning Commons. It’s a best practice, and research indicates that trained tutors achieve better outcomes than untrained tutors. We offer our training as paid training workshops. Currently, we only offer ITTPC-Level 1 certification, but we are starting to offer trainings beyond that level as we begin to develop level 2 training modules.

All the best,

Jeffrey

Subject: Requiring a Tutor Training Course

Hello,

This is an old subject, but because my college has transformed our tutor training courses, questions have been raised from our department as to whether or not we can require new and current tutors to take the level one course.  We have always encouraged them to enroll in the course, but can there be a requirement to do so?

Please advise.

Thank you.
