Software Defined Infrastructures consists of fully virtualised compute, networking, storage and other resources are abstracted away from the underlying physical infrastructure through software, such as Software Defined Data Centre. This allows policy-based infrastructure provisioning and enables IT automation. Software-defined infrastructure is not tied to specific hardware and can operate without or with little human involvement. This paradigm fully integrated and automated IT functions and resources.
