Dear All,

This call for nominations was sent to the INSNA membership several weeks ago, but it doesn't look like it was ever sent to SocNet, so here it is, somewhat belatedly.

Nominations (including self-nominations) are now being accepted for the INSNA Freeman Award. The INSNA Freeman Award is given annually to a distinguished scholar in the field of social networks for significant contributions to the scientific study of social structure.

The award is designed to be given to a young scholar, who is an INSNA member and in the earlier stages of their research career (i.e., someone under 40 years old or someone who has received their PhD within the past 10 years). Consideration is also given to persons who have come to education later in life or who have interrupted their career for any reason (family, health, etc.). Nominees will be contacted and asked to provide a brief summary of their work and a copy of their CV (if not available at time of submission). The recipient will be announced in June at Sunbelt XXXV in Paris (June 2-7, 2020), and will deliver the plenary Freeman Lecture at Sunbelt XXXVI in Washington, DC (July 6-11, 2021). Expenses for the conference will be part of the award. The 2020 Freeman Award Committee is Pavel Krivitsky (chair), Bernice Pescosolido, and Beate Volker. Nominations must be received by February 16, 2020.

Best Regards,

Pavel Krivitsky
