The UF Center for European Studies (CES) is accepting applications for our Center Graduate Assistant (GA) for Fall 2020. The GA appointment comes with a standard 9 credit hour tuition waiver. It is possible that this appointment may be renewed for the Spring 2021 semester, but continued funding is not guaranteed.
The CES GA will perform a variety of tasks for the Center and CES faculty including, but not limited to participating in data collection for upcoming grant proposals, assisting during CES outreach events and other CES related activities such as study abroad and career fairs. In addition, the CES GA may also be required to help post flyers and posters around campus to advertise courses and events and may also staff the main office from time to time and carry out general office duties such as making copies and answering the telephone.
Applications from all departments within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences are welcome, however the CES has a strong preference for hiring a GA who is actively pursuing doctoral research on a European topic (broadly defined).
Applicants should submit a copy of their transcript (unofficial is fine), a brief letter of interest, and a short description of their (anticipated) research project or interests (1-2 pages) to: Dr. Amie Kreppel ([log in to unmask]), Director, Center for European Studies.
All applications must also include a brief letter of support from the Graduate Coordinator of the applicant’s department. Supplemental letters of support from faculty advisors or mentors are encouraged, but not required. Letters should be sent directly to Dr. Kreppel (with relevant student’s name in the subject line).
Deadline: All applications should be submitted by Monday, April 27, 2020 and must be complete for full consideration.
