This is the section from our tutoring manual that addresses these areas:


Professional Image

We expect that you will act in a professional manner and put forth your best effort while working for the LEC.  The way you behave reflects on the reputation of the Learning Enhancement Center.  As such, the following is expected:

     *   LEC staff must be physically present in the center; hanging out in the break room when you are not on break is not permitted.
     *   Working on one’s own homework is a privilege, which if abused will be revoked.
     *   Distractions such as cell phones, headphones, music, video games, laptops, etc…are not permitted in the center.
     *   Sleeping or putting one’s head down on a table is absolutely not permitted.  It sends the message that you are not available, unprofessional and disinterested, which is not the message we want to convey.
     *   Appropriate attire: we do not expect you to wear professional attire, but short skirts, revealing tops, extremely low cut pants, sagging pants, shirts with lewd phrases and other such clothing is not acceptable.
     *   You must wear your name badge on a lanyard during all shifts.  The name badge and lanyard are provided for you.
