Hello all:
Greetings from Peru State College in Nebraska! I am writing to ask for your insight regarding the use academic probation contracts. I am relatively new to my position and am researching best practices.  From what I have found, many institutions have students sign some form of a contract to indicate that they understand that they are on academic probation and that they agree to certain terms. I have been trying to find evidence demonstrating whether this strategy is effective for the at-risk student population. Does making a student sign a contract actually translate into better retention? I hope you can point me in the right direction. My attempts to find the answer hasn’t been very productive.
