Based on learning theory, we limited most of our sessions (pre-zoom) to 30 minutes with a 30 minute window between sessions. This gives the student time to process and work on their own. It also gives other students a chance to work with the tutor! With technology, we have let the sessions go a little longer if needed, loading time, sharing screen time, etc.

Hello friends,

I am wondering if any of your learning centers have policies about the maximum number of tutoring hours a student can access in a week. We are offering statistics tutoring in our center and have a student who wants to meet with a tutor for two hours three times a week. She is also sometimes requesting support beyond that. We haven’t run into this problem before.

Thank you!

Erin
