CALL TO CONFERENCE: Birmingham, Alabama – September 28 to October 1, 2021
“Forging Academic Success”
The National College Learning Center Association is proud to announce our 36th Annual Conference will be held in Birmingham, Alabama, from September 29 to October 1, 2021, while pre- and post-con sessions will be held on September 28 and October 1 2021. Numerous opportunities exist for professional development, networking, exhibitor interaction, member engagement, and relaxation.
Our conference website contains vital information about the conference and opportunities for you to submit proposals to share your extensive knowledge with colleagues from across the country.
Birmingham is the only place in the world where all the ingredients for making iron are present—coal, iron ore, and limestone, all within a ten-mile radius. We can’t think of a more fitting location as our world emerges from a pandemic.
Our annual conference is all about you! You’ll get to interact with learning center leaders as we return to campuses and help our students forge academic success after an unprecedented and unsettling year.
Where You’ll Relax
The Sheraton Birmingham Hotel happens to be in an ideal location in Birmingham’s thriving downtown district. Their rooms and suites feature ample natural light, high-speed Wi-Fi, and the Sheraton Signature Sleep Experience. You can make your reservations here.
Where You’ll Engage
The conference is held in the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex conveniently connected to the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel. You’ll interact with learning center leaders in pre- and post-con sessions (deep dives on specific topics), concurrent sessions (hour-long sessions), mini-engagement sessions (short, lively activities you can use in training your staff), and poster sessions (overviews of exciting research in our field).
How You’ll Get Here
Arrive via the Sheraton’s complimentary shuttle from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport and settle in for a relaxing stay.
Sharing Your Work: Call for Proposals
We have several opportunities to share your experience, best practices, most exciting activities, and research at this year’s conference. Check out these wonderful opportunities and submit your proposals here.
Wait… No Keynote Speaker?
That’s right. This conference is about you! You’ll engage in over a hundred concurrent sessions, view research posters, and get on your feet during our mini-engagement sessions. We want to hear from you. How did your centers fair during the shutdowns? How was the shift to online learning and back again? What are your plans for rebuilding your centers? Our lunch breaks will be just that: Breaks! Enjoy the company of your colleagues.
