The Academic Success Center at the University of Tampa is seeking to fill two (2) full-time Academic Program Specialist positions. As part of the Academic Excellence Programs (AEP) team, these positions will report to the Director of Academic Excellence Programs and will assist the Director with other areas in the Academic Excellence Programs department.
Academic Program Specialist, Peer Support and Supplemental Instruction – This position will be responsible for designing and implementing the Supplemental Instruction Program and coordinating all aspects of peer support programs. The Academic Program Specialist will also assist with targeted initiatives to support retention efforts.
Academic Program Specialist, SOAR and Academic Coaching – This position will be responsible for SOAR (Students Overcoming Academic Roadblocks), a program that supports students on academic probation as well as others in need of academic assistance. The Academic Program Specialist will also develop and expand peer academic coaching to support retention efforts.
Qualifications include: Master's degree in an academic discipline, higher education, or related field from a regionally accredited university; 2-5 years working in the higher education environment; and knowledge of academic support programs, and academic advising policies and procedures.
