Dear Yves and all,

Thanks for relaying the sad news. Although we have corresponded over the years, I have only met Claude once, during the 2006 workshop that got us aspido-geeks together, and from which aspidolist ultimately arose. That meeting kicks-started many collaborations. Claude organized it, welcomed the dozen of us gathering, and shared his vast knowledge freely. He also led a series of trips to European museums to document and evaluate types, providing a solid foundation to work from. A great loss for the cuke world.

Best - Gustav

Dear Colleagues/friends

Today, I have to bring you sad news.

Just yesterday, I've learned from Claude's wife that Claude has died; last Saturday...

It's extremely sad.

We've lost not only a colleague and a lot of expertise (and for some of us who knew Claude, a lot of friendship!)

Kind regards - yves
