To Gene Beckett, Frankey, Lucy and all other LRNASSTR's and Winter
Institute participants who will be heading to CRLA this week:

Spoke to Rick Sheets this morning.

        1. A SOCIAL for LRNASST is scheduled on Sat., April 8, 2:45 - 3:45
                Hospitality Suite at the Radisson

        2. A SOCIAL for participants of Winter Institute(s) and those who
want to learn more about WI is also scheduled for Sat., April 8,
4:00-5:00pm -- also in the Hospitality Suite.

Both of these events are listed in the on-site conference schedule which
will be in the conference materials you will pick up at registration.

        3. Gene Kerstein has excellent words of wisdom on LRNASST today re:
weather in the desert. The forecast calls for mid-to-upper 80's during
the day and low 50's at night -- in Tempe. If you're planning to attend
one of the excursions to the Grand Canyon -- it's mid-50's daytime, 30's
at night (remember, the elevation is 6,000 - 7,500 feet in the north
country). There's been some hint of a weak low pressure system bringing
high clouds to Tempe (probably only scattered showers, if any). You
might experience rain up north.

Suggestion: layers of clothing are always a good bet
                     a lightweight jacket/sweatshirt is a good idea
a travel umbrella doesn't take up much room
                     SUNSCREEN -- always
& especially for those of us who have kept
the majority of our body parts under wraps
                        all winter
a hat/visor is advisable if you plan to spend time
                        outdoors

And that, my friends, should get you ready for Tempe. If you forget any
of the above items, there are MANY businesses who will be more than happy
to take your money for new goodies!!
