Course Outline

     1.  COURSE PREFIX, NUMBER AND TITLE:  REA 1105 - Critical
Reading & Research  Strategies for College Success

     2.  CATALOG DESCRIPTION:  A college level transfer course that
offers strategies for improving reading and research skills
across-the-curriculum.  Offers techniques to improve comprehension,
memory, vocabulary, and flexibility.  Also offers strategies to increase
reading speed and how to vary reading speed based on what is being
read.  Instructions on how to read the texts for assigned classes.
Students must be placed in college courses on the basis of CPT scores.
Provides opportunity for in-field research and reading in various fields of
interest.  3 credits.

     3.  CREDIT HOURS:  3 hours lecture/LAB
