Division of Academic Assistance

The University of Georgia invites applications and nominations for the
position of Director, Division of Academic Assistance.

The Division of Academic Assistance has three principle functions designed
to enhance students' likelihood of academic success: (1) providing academic
assistance and counseling, including tutoring, to the student body at large;
(2) offering both mandated and elective courses in fields such as English,
mathematics, reading and study strategies; and (3) overseeing the University's
federally supported TRIO programs.  In addition, faculty of the Division join
the University community in its commitment to research and public service.

The Director reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and has
responsibility for the faculty/staff and programs of the Division.  This
responsibility includes oversight of curriculum and learning support services,
preparation and administration of the budget, assurance that Division and
institutional standards and policies are implemented, and leadership for
quality program and faculty/staff development.

Requirements: an earned doctorate in a field relevant to the Division and
related experience, preferably administrative.  Preferred, though not required,
are qualifications commensurate with being appointed with an academic rank of
Professor.  Salary will be commensurate with background and experience.
