Campus Director, Learning Resource Center

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is currently seeking qualified
applicants for the position of Campus Director of the Newark Learning
Resource Center (LRC).  The LRC is one of five centers operating on five
different campuses of Rutgers.  The LRC represents a prominent role in the
University's commitment to the high quality of academic experiences for
Rutgers' students.

The Campus Director of the Learning Resource Center is responsible for the
general supervision of all aspects of the services provided at the LRC
including personnel, delivery of programs, and maintenance of instructional
equipment, materials and facility; coordinates and supervises individual
learning assistance and study skills/learning strategies workshops;
develops working relationships and communication networks between the LRC
and campus faculty and staff, including the coordination of LRC activities
with other campus activities; and supervises the collection of data and
documentation, as needed and directed.

Required: A master's degree, doctorate preferred.  Appreciation of the
mission of academic support services for all within a major university and
at least four years in higher education, with a minimum of two years
experience in managing or directing a support services program.  Previous
experience in university academic learning centers strongly preferred.
Ability to relate to faculty, staff and students, and demonstrated ability
to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies and University
offices; exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills;
organizational skills crucial; sound judgment and flexibility; demonstrated
ability to supervise; and commitment and willingness to work with a team.
