Walt:
        Hear, hear.  I like what you said.  All to often we end up
wanting students to succeed more than, they do.

        Since I have been at Morehead, I notice that we want to students
to be successful, have put money and energy only to find out some
students just wanted to hang out.  It is a recruiting thing? It is a
maturity thing?  It is a preparation thing as Sherron Jackson says.

        Worse,  it makes minority folks in positions of influnce:
administrators, instructors, minority retention specialists look bad. Why
didn't (couldn't) success we our "kind"  . . .

        I agree with you set-up the resources, work like hell to get
students to use them.  No one can say, we didn't try. . .
