We occasionally have students meet with tutors who have taken MCAT to
pass along any information they can provide on how to prepare,
test-taking tips, etc.

We also have software a preparation book available. Both are from BETZ
Publishing, Box 1745, Rockville, MD 20849, (301) 340-0030, Tollfree (800)
634-4365, FAX (301)340-0253. The software packages are Problem Solving
in the Biological Sciences for MCAT and Problem Solving in the Physical
Sciences for MCAT. We have not had many students use the software, but
those who have say it is good. I have also had tutors who have taken
MCAT look through it, and they had favorable comments.

Hello to those who are involved in supporting premedical and other
prehealth students. I thought I might mention that a website I have created
for medical students might be a useful adjunct in your advising. What I
address does not duplicate the efforts of the Kaplan, Betz, and Princeton
groups, but it could make their approaches more effective. I try to develop
the students ability to learn content as opposed to teaching the content

I will be developing this site more after the holiday break, as my schedule
this Fall has been too demanding to give it much attention. I will also be
gaining experience by using my learning style approach with our newly
inaugurated Bernard Harris Premedical Society here at Texas Tech. Perhaps I
will have more to offer this group when I gain some more experience. For
now, I mostly listen in.

My website is at <>. I am always happy to
entertain questions and concerns.

my best,
