                                DIRECTOR OF HIGGINS ACADEMIC CENTER

Randolph-Macon College, located in Ashland VA, seeks nominations and
applications for the position of Director of the Higgins Academic Center.
Responsibilities include managing and directing a college-wide academic
support center designed to assist undergraduate students in the development
of learning skills that promote academic success.  Services include Peer
Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction, and programs for probationary and at
risk students.

The director works with the coordinator of Disability Services to provide
academic assistance to students with disabilities.  The director also works
with deans, faculty and staff to continually enhance student retention
efforts.   The opportunity to teach is a strong possibility.

Qualifications include Master's degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D. a plus) in learning
assistance/learning theory or related field, strong interpersonal,
organizational and communication skills, college teaching or learning
support experience preferred.  Salary is commensurate with experience.
