Assistant Director, Tutoring

Franklin University is seeking qualified candidates for the position of
Assistant Director in our Teaching and Learning Center.
Responsibilities include:
Working with faculty and staff to provide programs and services that
support student learning, e.g. tutoring; workshops; supplemental
instruction; and electronic, Internet, and print-based resources;
working with the Coordinator of Disability Services to provide
notetakers, tutors, equipment, and other learning accommodations for
certified disabled students; promoting, implementing, evaluating, and
revising programs and services that support student learning; processing
academic support information that contributes to University Assessment;
submitting payroll information of tutors, notetakers, and workshop
leaders to the University Payroll and Benefits department; collaborating
with other TLC staff in developing, publicizing, and evaluating TLC
programs and services; collaborating with other TLC staff in supervision
of TLC.

Requirements:
Master’s degree in psychology, education or other field relevant to the
University’s curricula; minimum of 3 years’ experience in higher
education tutoring or teaching; ability to teach students and other
tutoring/workshop staff about academic needs, learning styles, study
skills, and other issues related to the unique needs of adult learners;
experience providing service to adult commuter students; evidence of
strong writing, interpersonal, and computer skills; ability to work
evening and week end hours throughout the calendar year; ability to work
as a member of a flexible team in which all members are cross-trained to
ensure smooth service to students and faculty.
