FOR YOUR INFORMATION . . . In response to a number of inquires, we are pleased to announce that the STUDENT DEVELOPMENTAL TASK AND LIFESTYLE ASSESSMENT (SDTLA) is now available for use. The SDTLA is a revision of the Student Developmental Task and Lifestyle Inventory (SDTLI)--which was published in 1987--and is grounded in the theoretical approach described by Chickering and Reisser (1993) in EDUCATION AND IDENTITY (2nd ed.). The SDTLI has been useful in working with students individually, for assessing student needs in program development, for teaching in orientation courses, and for conducting outcomes assessments. We believe that the SDTLA is an even better assessment instrument.
